How it started
Frelugasockan – signed by Jerker Lysell
It all began on a cold and blustery November morning in Freluga, outside Bollnäs in Hälsingland. The year was 2015, and orienteer Jerker Lysell was out running in his father Folke’s marsh. As usual, he ran and cursed the cold on his feet, lamenting that no one could make a pair of wet socks that fit well. Right then and there, a seed was planted that one day he would develop the perfect wet sock.
Time passed, and Jerker managed to win two World Championship gold medals, among other things. Despite his successes, he was never really free from injuries and soon found himself back in the marsh again. After another rough day with cold and wet feet, he decided to take action and develop the perfect wet sock. He sat at home in his kitchen, cutting and sewing old socks he found. After many hours, he came up with a design he liked.
The years passed, and as Jerker’s injuries healed, he forgot about the wet socks. But in early 2020, he was back in his father Folke’s marsh and was struck by how cold and miserable it was, so he decided to pick up where he had left off with the socks a few years earlier. He refined the design further and spent countless hours figuring out which neoprene was best and how to sew the socks in the best way. He ordered several different test socks from different factories and finally came up with a real premium sock. It has a design that fits like a glove and is made of the best neoprene on the market with microfleece on the inside.
Now you too can train like Jerker in the marsh without getting cold feet. But of course, they work just as well on a rainy day in the forest, during a long run in the snow in winter, or on that chilly evening on the lighted trail when you just don’t want your feet to freeze.
Since then, more products have followed, and today we are a small team led by Jerker, focusing on sports products developed for training and competition in extreme conditions. Keep an eye out here and on social media for the latest news!
